Gaspee Street in Providence is accorded the status of being one of the three streets that encircle the Rhode Island State Capitol.  A beautiful tree lined road, Gaspee Street is also the location of the Providence Amtrak Train Station. During the 19th Century, Gaspee Street was better known as the location of the RI State Gaol (penitentiary).
